De La Salle School – It’ll be alright on the night
We were commissioned to work with the students to produce a campaign and event programme for their ‘It’ll be alright on the night’ event. Starting with a series of hour long classes we involved the students in the many aspects of creating an awareness campaign via traditional and guerilla marketing techniques.
The group discussed how the students could use illustration styles that are fun but relevant to the school and explored artistic, photographic and caricature options that the students could easily cut and paste using traditional and modern techniques. The title of the show led us to adopt a things will go wrong attitude, we all felt the best representation of this was a simple, comedy custard splat.
We demonstrated how the initial ideas the group produced could be distilled into posters, leaflets, t shirts and the programme (with a heavy emphasis on splats of all types).
The resulting Posters, T-shirts and Programmes styled on a Victorian Revue (sort of) where deamed a great success and we look forward to working with the school again soon!
A massive thanks to the graphic design company Cultivate Creative for their expertise, guidance and genuine enthusiasm in providing workshops for our students and producing, with the students input and ideas, the designs which led to our fabulous programmes and posters.
